Scope and Content

A ca. 1950 commercial building remodeled in 1969, which occupied the site of two of the Mordecai Cohen residences built ca. 1935. Occupied as residences as late as 1948. In 1955, 1010 Broad Street was listed as "Automatic Grocery" and between 1950 and 1955, the two single houses were taken down and the commercial building was constructed. Building was demolished. A/k/a Hollings Judicial Court Annex. File contains relevant section of the 1996 Cultural Resource Assessment done by Preservation Consultants in connection with the Hollings Judicial Center Annex. Also available (pdf) are documents containing correspondence and other documentation from 1994-2006 relating to various issues involving 93-97 Broad Street, including legal correspondence. Files had been maintained by HCF Executive Directors Carter Hudgins and Kitty Robinson. The original files were not processed, except organized chronologically, and some items may be redundant.
