Gift of Miss Alicia Hopton Middleton to Carolina Art Association in 1937. Painting belonged to Nathaniel Russell Middleton, son of Alicia and Arthur Middleton, grandson of Nathaniel Russell. Miss Alicia Hopton Middleton was his daughter who resided at Hey Bonnie Hall in Rhode Island.
