BULL.054.001Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1870-90. This is a typical frame single house of the late-19th century built for working-class whites and, particularly, the freedmen who crowded into this area of Harleston Village after the Civil War. Large lots such as that at 50 Bull were increasingly subdivided. Even at this late date the pattern for kitchen dependencies remained fixed with middling single houses. This example retains a 2-story outbuilding with only one room per floor.
File contains brief narrative history; chain-of-title research; measured drawings.Collection
