Publisher is below sight line of the frame. Spanish Colonials in South America. Nine figures, one central figure in native costume, seven figures in Inca costume, one gentleman in colonial Spanish attire. Predominant colors are orange, blue , brown and white. Soldier is pleading case for naked woman draped in decorative cloth. One female figure is carrying Sun banner.

Matt burn, foxing staining, fading, crease 6" down on P.L. creases visible under lambstongue
Frame;loss of gilding, loss at 5' up lower left side, several losses on lower edge, large loss in middle of top edge. Horizontal crackes along gilding, Sides of frame was repainted with brown/beige flat paint. cracks on inside edge on acanthus/anthemion leaves. cracks on all mitres.Provenance

Given by Thomas R. Bennett, who acquired the four engravings from an antique dealer in Greenwich, Connecticut in 2004. Mr. Bennett originally purchased them for his house in France but later changed his mind.General Notes
