CHARLOTTE.035.01Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1870. A Charlestonian of German extraction constructed this 2-story wood Italianate house with Queen Anne details shortly after the Civil War. Delicate cast-iron detailing surmounts the finely crafted entry hood and first-floor bay window. Turned columns and spindle-work balustrades support the double-tiered south piazzas.
