Vincent de Grailly, French, (b. 1804, d. 1889) Oil on canvas, no visible signature, depicting landscape scene of woman on donkey with man walking next to her herding goat, sheep, and cattle, shepherd with sheep in pasture, background with river, mountain, trees and blue sky with peach and gray clouds, in period molded gilt gesso frame; inscribed on reverse 'JDA (Joseph D. Aiken), 1854' Dimensions: sight height 21, sight width 28 1/2, height overal 28 5/8, with overall 36 1/4 inches Provenance: by descent through Joseph D. Aiken
