COMING.069.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1817. This 2½ story weatherboarded Charleston single house, with its principal piazza standing on a stuccoed and arcaded brick basement, was built on land given by William Blacklock (of 18 Bull Street) to his daughter Katherine and her husband Nathaniel Farr. With its perpendicular stone staircase rising to a Greek Revival door screen, the house seems reminiscent of the Legare House at 75 Anson Street.
File contains newspaper article (date not iindicated) about the College's purchase of the building; handwritten staff research "source notes" (scant).Collection
