Description

Alfred Hutty was one of the founding members of the Charleston Etchers Club in 1923, a time when etchings were used by printmakers to celebrate the essence of the Holy City. He also participated in many facets of Charleston's cultural life: taught art classes at his studio and at the Gibbes, was an officer and set painter for the Footlight Players, and was a member of the Charleston Art Commission. He lived at (and restored) 46 Tradd Street. This book features approximately 60 scenes of the Low Country in etchings, pencil drawings, and drypoint. 127 p. : ill. ; 24 x 31 cm.
