CHURCH.128.1a-bDescription
Two B&W photographs of 128 Church Street (Keenan-O'Reilly Houses).
a: Front (west) elevation showing both the north and south sections. Street signs for the intersection of Church and Chalmers Streets in foreground.
b: North section only, northwest corner of the building.
North section constructed c. 1802-15, south section c. 1820; renovated 1970s, 1990s. Constructed as two separate buildings, these were first joined together in a renovation in the 1970s. The small 2½ story house to the north, with its restored brickwork and hipped, pantile roof, was built after 1802 by shopkeeper George Keenan and sold in 1815 to Joshua Brown. To the south, the flat-roofed parapeted building was constructed by James O'Reilly after 1820. (Poston, Buildings of Charleston.)
