Constructed ca. 1790s by. Three-story building, constructed with a slate roof and common bond brick. Edward McCrady was the first known owner of the plot of land that 153 East Bay occupies. First used as a tavern.
Building number fluctuates from the end of the 19th century to the turn of the 20th century. See Notes tab and Sanborn Maps.
File contains architectural drawings and photo (copy), presumably submitted in support of BAR submission; advertisement for Daggett office supplies company (image);
graduate student report (Jean Stoll, 2014) on the history of the building, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation..
