Constructed before 1813; renovated ca. 1836, 1867, 1977. Samuel Prioleau, owner of the nearby wharves, built this range before 1813. His son Dr. Philip Gendron Prioleau and Catherine Prioleau Ravenel remodeled the structures in about 1836, with pilasters and lintels of Quincy granite on the first floor, six-over-six windows with stone lintels and sills, and a surmounting parapet. Site of numerous businesses noted at various addresses including 154 East Bay Street (e.g., Sheppard & Porcher, Southern Jute Products); 156 East Bay Street (e.g., George W. Jatho & Bro., Claussen & Bulwinkle, Fleming Bros., R.M. Thomas Broker); 158 East Bay Street; 156-158 East Bay Street (e.g., J.J.W Luden & Co.); 160 East Bay Street; 162 East Bay Street (e.g., H. Bulwinkle & Co., C.G. Matthews Co.).
