Charleston Iron Works first started in business in 1844. There are 4 immense buildings standing on 2 acres of land (vicinity of what is today 274 East Bay Street). Railroad tracks and spurs run in and out of the buildings connecting with East Shore Terminal tracks. No additional building history on file. Needs further research.
