Subject: Photo
...In other news, I'm hot on the trail of a better photo of this house that was built in about 1900 on the banks of the Ashley River at the western end of Grove St. The grandson of the last member of the family to own it before it burned down is talking to his family in search for some good shots. The house was the subject of a newspaper write up at one point (but the photo is really blurry). Then, in 1952, there was an article about its gardens, which were quite a draw apparently during Garden Week. That shot is clearer, but it doesn't show the house very well. The grandson said he thinks that they have some photos that were taken for that 1952 newspaper article! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
