Scope and Content

One Souvenir Ticket to the South Carolina Interstate and West Indian Exposition for "Charleston Day," May 31, 1902. (Scan only; original given to Special Collections at Charleston County Public Library.) Purpose of the exposition: "To reveal to the world the marvelous development of the South in the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century, and to emphasize the importance of developing the rich commercial possibilities now open to the United States in the West Indies." Scope of the exposition: "Full exhibits of the resources of every State in the Union and of the principal islands of the West Indies will be made. Central and South American Republics will also participate and the leading countries of Europe will be represented." ] Scope and Purpose from vol. 1, no. 8 (July 1901).
