ELIZABETH.041.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1840. This small, single house was renovated in 1980 and divided into units. In 1990, the owner renovated the home back to a single family unit. By using good moldings and cabinet work, a simple single house took on a bit of charm. All of the painting and window hangings and some of the carpentry were done by the 1990 owner.
File contains graduate student report (Kyunhea Kwon, 2017) on the history of the building/property, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, plats, and other supporting documentation; FOH house history (1999); newspaper article; 1886 Earthquake Damage Assessment*; Hurricane Hugo Damage survey (pdf).
*Early address had been 39 Elizabeth; assessments for both addresses are included.Collection
