9-11 Elliott StreetEntry/Object ID
ELLIOTT.009-11.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1920s. Elliott Street is one of Charleston's oldest thoroughfares and has seen a change of activity for over 200 years. In the early 20th century when commercial and retail businesses moved further up the peninsula, this street returned to a more residential area. A warehouse of some sort stood on the property, which was probably torn down when this house was built.
File contains FOH House history (2002) (cited above); Part I Certification application with "A Capsule History" by Robert P. Stockton (11/17/1983) attached; correspondence related to the SCDAH decision that 9-11 Elliott did not contribute to the historic district.Collection
