Scope and Content

The buildings at 28-36 Hasell Street were constructed variously from 1840-44 and constitute an unbroken line of brick Charleston single houses constructed after the fire of 1838. By 1861 all were owned by John McNellage and occupied by single-family tenants. File contains house history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston; house history with copy of partially illegible plat attached (undated, unattributed).
