47 Hasell StreetEntry/Object ID
HASELL.047.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1840. One of 3 Charleston single houses that seem appropriately scaled in ascending order from the corner of Anson toward the west. Each shows characteristics of having been built immediately after the fire of 1838. 47 Hasell Street is a good example of mixed-use property. It is of masonry construction, and retains its historic exterior design of a two-by -four bay rectangle with a shallow rear wing. The north facade is extended by a 2-tier piazza that wraps around the rear of the main block.
Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence; Part I certification (National Register); annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; correspondence relating to the management of the property; FOHG house history (1995); copy of ARP photograph.
