Scope and Content

The real estate investor Morris Jervey built this small 2-story cottage with front piazzas in the 1930s, utilizing vernacular detailing similar to that of 3 Judith Street. Both houses reflect the changing economic character in the neighborhood. Purchased by HCF in 1977 as part of its Home Ownership Program; sold in 1980. No additional house history on file. Needs further research. Three files containing documentation of the covenant and sale of the property, including right-of-first-refusal; annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; correspondence and other documentation related to the management of the property; color photos of house under repair, mounted on paper (undated, unattributed); title research; documentation of HCF's purchase, rehabilitation, and sale of the property; copy of HCF covenant information card; copy of County Property Card. See Covenant/Easement Inspection Photo Files for inspection photography.
