Constructed ca. 1827. Mrs. Mary Gadsden inherited this small carriage house and the larger one at 34 South Battery from her father, John Ashe. File contains FOHG house history (undated); draft of FOHG Garden History (undated) (Loutrel Briggs garden); historical/title research notes by L. Louis Green (1968); transcribed page from Will of John Ashe devising the land to his daughter Mary Gadsden; copies of maps dated 1671, 1739, 1788, 1965 showing location of lot/dwelling; elevations (2003) (photocopy). No photos on file. Image in this record is from document in the Property File.
