KING.004.1Scope and Content
Presumed to be constructed during the late 18th century. It is a 2½ story frame Charleston single house set on low stuccoed masonry foundation with a 2-story piazza at the south elevation. The property's ownership can be traced to John Ashe, Sr., who willed it to his grandson Christopher Gadsden in 1801.
To date, Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; and Part I certification (National Register); IRS form 8283 and appraisal-related IRS Explanation of Items, Review Appraisal with Opinion of Value; annual inspection reports; requests for alterations and correspondence related to the management of the property.
