KING.070.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1842. This 2-story brick building with an arch in the center was where the ovens for the bakery shop at 72 King Street were located. Like many other houses in this area, it had deteriorated but was remodeled in the early 1940s from 3 shabby apartments to a single family residence. (Source: FOH House History, Old Codgers)
File contains scant historical research (Louis Green, 1971) and draft of FOHG house history (1978); Rosen and Associates inspection report (2010); graduate student report (Shannon Devlin, 2013) on the history of the building, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation.
