Report on the project undertaken by the author and Historic Charleston Foundation to develop architectural guidelines and procedures that can be used as a preservation resources for those interested in proper repair and rehabilitation techniques and as preservation standards for those who are responsible for the technical review of architectural projects. Project entailed technical literature research, project review, conservation studies and analysis (mortar, stuccoes, brick units, and wood), seminar, project report, preparation of guidelines and handbook, etc. Includes project description and schedules, assessment of conservation practices in Charleston, product and services research (which produced a catalog of preservation product literature and services included in this volume), project reviews, masonry material analysis, analysis of stuccoes and mortars, procedural recommendations, and Site Visit Reports for a number of historic district structures.
