Newspaper articles from the News & Courier and Charleston Evening Post, collected presumably by the donor and placed between the covers of a scrapbook. Articles are mostly about various Charleston houses and buildings, and others about more general Charleston topics. Album has floral designs on front and back covers. Stoney (3/1/1964); article about Jenifer Heyward, daughter of DuBose Heyward; "Charleston's Famous Houses" by Jack Leland (6/18/1978) regarding the publication of the booklet 60 Famous Houses; article by Jane E. Allen (1/31/1982) "Portraits Have Charleston Links" about Telfair Art Museum exhibit; "Milk Delivery Thing of Past" by Elsa F. McDowell (with photo of West End Dairy); article about George Washington by Edward O. Marshall (4/9/1984); article about Alice R. Huger Smith (part of series on works at the Gibbes); article about Charleston fires by Jack Leland (2/4/1979); "City's Churches are Lovely Shrines" by Margaret Neeson (1940s?); reprint of National Observer article about Samuel G. Stoney and Charleston; "Many of Charleston's Streets are Named for Early Settlers" by Joseph I. Waring; hurricane of August 11, 1940; Ashley Cooper "Doing the Charleston" about Porgy & Bess; feature on the shipping trade and Charleston port by Thomas J. Tobias (1/19-20/1959); article about inflation in the South by Caroline S. Photocopies have been made of these articles which have been placed in the respective property files; originals discarded due to poor condition.
