My Dear Major,
I have seen my brother in relation to the mare your wish to purchase. He will sell her, and asks two hundred and twenty five dollars. She has been ridden a good deal of late and looks thin. If you still decide to purchase, write me as soon as convenient, and direct to Moncks Corner P.O. N E Rail Road.
Yours Truly,
William H. Cain
