Description

Two stereographs: a: Meeting Street looking south from 105 Meeting to St. Michael's Church. View of the sidewalk running down the street from the iron gate of Hibernian Hall. Men stand on the sidewalk at various places. Across the street, men are seated on a bench outside the gates to Washington Square Park. Northeast corner of City Hall at mid-left. With magnification, a crowd standing on the sidewalk is in the distance at the intersection of Meeting and Broad Streets. b: View of the Charleston Orphan House. Bearded gentleman stands by a hedge bordering the driveway. The statue of William Pitt, which was later moved to Washington Square, stands in front of the house.
