Scope and Content

L-shaped building filling up a lot at King Street and Society Street. Original portion of the building was likely constructed prior to 1816. The entire current structure underwent a major remodeling in 1946, designed by Augustus Constantine. File contains description from Old Codgers Address Book; photocopy of photograph of Haverty Furniture Store after a 1947 remodeling (otherwise unattributed); graduate student report (Amber Anderson, 2013) on the history of the building, which includes historical and chain-of-title research, maps, photos, and other supporting documentation; historical research "notes on building history" with newspaper articles and maps (Sarah Fick, 2015).
