KING.306.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1810; alterations mid-20th century, ca. 1985. Three-story masonry building with hipped roof clad in standing-seam metal and an enclosed piazza along the sough elevation. The stuccoed east facade is scored to resemble cut stone. The upper facade retains its historic configuration generally intact, while the storefront has been reworked several times and the piazza has been enclosed since the early 20th century.
Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; Part I certification (National Register); easement appraisal report; IRS form 8283; narrative history; parcel map and information; sale notice (1918); copy of 1843 plat; Architectural Inventory Form; newspaper articles; occupancy history from Old Codgers Charleston Address Book.
