KING.307.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1887 on the site of an earlier frame building that was wrecked by the 1886 earthquake. It is a 2-story masonry building with a hipped roof clad in standing-seam metal and concealed by parapets.
Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; Part I certification (National Register); easement appraisal report and IRS form 8283; narrative history; Sanborn maps; newspaper article (DYKYC) about King Street generally); advertisement for store in 1968 with illustration of storefront at the time.
