Annual report of the Huguenot Society. Features an article entitled "Ce Pais Tant Desire : This Much Longed-For Country," which presents two letters, one written in 1686 by Jean Boyd of Bordeaux, France, and a second written in 1691 by his son Jean Boyd II from Charles Towne in Carolina. Facsimiles of both letters are presented, as well as translations. Of note is the 1691 map of Charles Towne, perhaps the earliest known map of the colony. Also featured are descriptions of local flora and fauna, Carolina Indians and their customs, geography, trade, and the price of food and other commodities.
Also includes the President's and other administrative reports and listings.
