"City Gardens" include: Henry Peronneau's Garden, Meeting Street; Edith Mathews's Garden, Blake Tenements (4 Courthouse Square); Florian Charles Mey's Garden (now lost), between Pinckney Street and Hard Alley; John Julius Pringle's Garden, 70 Tradd Street; Judge Elihu Hall Bay's Garden, 76 Meeting Street; A Garden on Tradd Street (south side); Alexander Inglis's Garden, 82 Queen Street; James Gregorie's Garden, 28 Broad Street; Orphan House Garden, Calhoun Street (f/k/a Boundary Street); Samuel Adams's Garden (block between Congress Street, Ashley Avenue, Huger Street, and Wesson Avenue; Samuel Prioleau's Garden, 71 Church Street; Thomas Bradford's Garden, 76 Church Street; Tradd and Legare Street Gardens; William Grogan's Garden, Wentworth Street.
"Country Gardens" include: William Bolough's Garden (Sewee Bay); William Williamson's Garden (Stono River); Alexander Bethune's Garden (Stono River); John Campney's Garden (Wando River); Alexander Mazyck's Garden (Springfield Plantation); a garden in St. Bartholomew's Parish; Mrs. John Edward's Garden (Washington Plantation); and Michaux's Garden North Charleston.
