Further researchScope and Content
The building appears to date from the early 1950s. It is a simple single-story masonry building built immediately next to and, within the porches of, the more stately 562 King Street. Demolished to make way for a new midtown development.
No additional building history on file, but see "Historic Buildings in the Midtown Project Area" by Robert Stockton (P151, pamphlet collection). Needs further research.
File contains 2008 engineer's (Rosen and Associates) report (with Sanborn maps) in reference to a request for partial demolition; occupancy history from Old Codgers' Charleston Address Book.
