Constructed ca. 1788-90; altered mid-19th century. Rebecca Rose, the widow of an Ashley River planter, inherited this land bordering Lamboll Street then called Smith's Lane. The essential form of this wooden single house was altered in 1830 in the Greek Revival style. The house also boasts piazzas on both the east and west sides and a parapeted flat roof reflecting the mid-19th century alterations.
