LAMBOLL.022.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1820; renovated ca. 1850, 1983. Although begun as a Charleston single house, this tall Federal dwelling was renovated in 1850 with front-facing, triple-tiered piazzas. The building served as the rectory for St. Michael's Church from 1895 to 1927. (Poston, Buildings of Charleston.)
File contains report "The Brohum Baker House: A Neoclassical Residence, Dependencies and Gardens" (unattributed, undated); FOHG house histories (1998, undated); other narrative history (handwritten, unattributed, undated); newspaper article (1950s?) about the garden; Rosen and Associates inspection report (2000); architectural drawings presented to BAR (2003) including existing floor plan and elevations.
