53 Laurens Street (James Marsh House)Entry/Object ID
LAURENS.053.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1815. The only original brick house left on Laurens Street, this well-preserved Federal dwelling has Flemish-bond pattern brickwork with belt courses between floors and brick quoining. The house has the further distinction of having been in the possession of only two families in its history. Descendants of James Marsh, the builder, owned the property until 1904, when it was conveyed to Mary Connor, the first of a succession of Connor-Renken family members who still live in the building.
File contains FOHG house history (undated); Symphony Designer House history (1892); newspaper article (1982); photocopy of ARP photograph.Collection
