Scope and Content

The original location of the house was 114 Anson Street from where it was relocated to make way for the construction of the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium in the mid-1960s. It was constructed ca. 1795, a 2-story Charleston single house with a two-tier piazza. Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; Part I certification (National Register); correspondence about the sale of the property; annual inspection reports and correspondence related to the management of the property; requests for alterations; pre-sale inspection and mold reports; newspaper articles about HCF saving the house at 114 Anson Street to move it to 61 Laurens (1965); historical/chain-of-title research information; draft FOHG house history (2005); copy of HCF easement information card (TMS number, year of construction, significant resident(s), deed research, deed restrictions, measurements, and tax information); photocopy of photos including ARP photo; documentation related to HCF's purchase of the property, relocation of house, and estimate of repairs (H.A.
