Scope and Content

Constructed between 1788-1807. Three-story wood frame, hipped roof dwelling on a continuous brick foundation with a south-side piazza and linear roof addition. Three files contain documentation of the easement on the property including related correspondence and Confirmation of Understanding; Part I certification (National Register); annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; and correspondence related to the management of the property; FOHG house history (1973 and undated); narrative history (for Part I certification application, by Carrie Albee, 2001); house history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston; historical/chain-of-title research information including copies of maps; transcription of Abstract of Title dated 1771 (with plat); Rosen and Associates inspection report (2003).
