7 Limehouse Street (Robert Limehouse House)Entry/Object ID
LIMEHOUSE.007.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1830. A member of the family that owned the land from which this street was created in the antebellum period built this 2½ story brick single house with pedimented gable and double-tiered Tuscan piazza. A simple Greek Revival architrave survives in the piazza screen. In scale and simplicity the Limehouse dwelling closely resembles its contemporary in stucco at 14 Limehouse Street. (Poston, Buildings of Charleston.)
