Constructed 1771; remodeled ca. 1893 by Bertram Kramer. This was a rather plain 18th century tenement built by William Ellis (the eastern half of the double tenement is 64 Tradd Street). It was remodeled in the high Victorian taste by Bertram Kramer, a bridge and wharf builder and general contractor. (Source: Information for Guides of Historic Houses)
