Scope and Content

Constructed 1771; remodeled ca. 1893 by Bertram Kramer. This was a rather plain 18th century tenement built by William Ellis (the eastern half of the double tenement is 64 Tradd Street). It was remodeled in the high Victorian taste by Bertram Kramer, a bridge and wharf builder and general contractor. (Source: Information for Guides of Historic Houses) File contains FOHG house history (undated); newspaper article (undated DYKYC, possibly 1976); research report (Alexandra Jones/Houselore, 2019); letter from Jonathan Poston (1998) about citizens's concern about residency changes of the building and petitions in favor of retaining the house as a single-family dwelling.
