Sign for City of Charleston Housing Authority posted on gate. HCF tour description taped to the back of Photo B: "Again this is a study print. Included in this overall area are many outstanding buildings, one of the finest of which is the Old marine Hospital on 20 Franklin Street, designed by Robert Mills, and dating from 1833. In our survey, This is Charleston, it is listed as Nationally Important, the top category. It was restored as part of the Robert Mills Manor and is used by the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston. While this area has none of the very oldest houses in Charleston, it is representative of many styles and periods, and illustrative of the continuing history of American Architecture."
