Photocopy of The News and Courier/Charleston Evening Post "Tornado Picture Edition" featuring scenes of the aftermath of the tornadoes of September 29, 1938. Also includes a map depicting the path of the 5 tornadoes. The 8-page section is dated October 18, 1938. The tornadoes caused 32 deaths, 350 injuries, property damage exceeding $3,000,000. "In the stricken areas the havoc was greater than that wrought by earthquake or hurricane. Many buildings have been destroyed, but, happily, sorely wounded landmarks will be fully restored. These pictures are reproduced, in response to public demand, in this special eight-page edition."
