Constructed ca. 1880s. House had been damaged by fire in September 1984. HCF considered relocating and rehabilitating the house to 36-40 Warren Street. No additional house history on file. Needs further research. File contains HCF "Memorandum on Salvaging and Moving House at 497 Meeting Street to HCF Property at 36-40 Warren Street" (1985) and newspaper articles; 1902 Sanborn Map.
