MURRAY.010-12.1Scope and Content
Constructed 1916. McCrady Brothers, architects. In 1916, Henry Cheves built these matching two-story, curvilinear-gable-ended houses for his son, Henry Cheves, Jr., and daughter, Charlotte Cheves Hardison, on two newly reclaimed lots on Battery (now Murray Boulevard). These stucco-on-wire frame houses reflect an eclectic late-Queen Anne style reminiscent of 17th century Jacobean architecture. (Poston, Buildings of Charleston.)
