Constructed ca. 1753 by Jacob Motte on land purchased from the estate of James Hibben. The original plantation's name, "Mount Pleasant," has been adopted by the entire community. The original building is thought to have consisted of a simple two rooms above, two rooms beneath, and a hipped roof.
File contains realtor's report containing miscellaneous historical information and photographs (color); HCF correspondence (1995) about possible restoration of dispensary on the property; easement appraisal (1996); newspaper article about additions to house (1998) (with 1996 photo).
