Constructed ca. 1776. The Tory Samuel Carne lived in this weatherboarded single house from 1777 to 1782. In plan it closely resembles neighboring houses; including the Walker House at 6 Orange Street, the Miller House at 8 Orange Street (a stuccoed single house with a side entry and a substantial 1920s addition), and the Tobias Cambridge House at 12 Orange Street (incorporating a Victorian rear addition).
