Early, Mid and Late Georgian Houses, three volumes from a series published by Country Life under the general title English Country, have established themselves as favorites among those who enjoy the rich heritage of English domestic architecture. This volume covers the period 1800-1840, the end of George III's reign, which was marked by an acceptance of the classic concept, not in pure form but as an Anglo-Saxon version adapted to the climate, domestic requirements, and overlaid with romantic and picturesque elements, and with increasing use of industrially produced decoration and materials.
