PITT.071.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1836. C.L. Desel constructed a well-detailed wood single house on a high brick foundation on a lot acquired from Joseph Manigault. Similar in form to the house at 135 Coming Street, the dwelling embraces the Greek Revival style with its 1-story raised piazza, square door architrave, and closed front gable with tripartite window. Desel died during the Civil War, and the property passed to the Johnson and then the Shepard families.
