The photograph is stretch lined with linen. It would be removed from its' stretcher and the linen removed from the verso. Adhesive and residues would then be removed from the verso. There are large tears throughout the object and these would be mended with Japanese paper and wheat starch paste. There is a large puncture in the center of the object which would be mended. large losses(minimum of 7) along the edges would be filled with western paper. More than sixty(60) , small losses would be filled using pulp fills or western paper. The object would then be lined overall with Japanese paper and mounted onto a 4-ply, 100%rag board. Image losses and fills would be isolated with methyl cellulose and inpainted with watercolors.
