Description

Bourne (Round Sofa), upholstered and tufted with backrest pillar. Octagonal central pillar. Fabric originally had a reddish-pink ground with gold and white detailing. Fabric has faded to yellowish-gold color. Maker unknown, possibly French or American. French type of sofa, oval or round with a pillar in the center, c. 1850-1880. Encyclopedia of Furniture, p. 59.
