43 Bull Street (John C. Simons House)Entry/Object ID
BULL.043.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1850. A deep lot allows this 3-story dwelling to have a substantial setback from Bull Street, providing a degree of privacy. Built by the King Street merchant John Simons, the three-bay house is ornamented by extensive ironwork and a bracketed cornice. A false extension of the facade masks a triple-tiered piazza placed on the side of the building and fosters a sense of privacy.
